Working with the McKnight Foundation in the USA, we made this animated short film for Teaching Works.
Teaching Works are an organisation whose mission is to ensure that all students have skillful teachers who are committed to and able to support their growth, disrupting racial inequity that has become common place in North American schools. Deborah Loewenberg Ball, the director of the company, voices the narration for our film. To read more about Teaching Works, visit their website here.
Before any project goes into the animation stage, we produce an animatic to see how the story plays out. A moving storyboard, timed to a scratch voice track (if we don't have the final voice track at this point in time.) It's crucial to iron out any issues with the narrative or pacing.
Here's the animatic we made for Teaching is Powerful.
We were selected as a finalist for the Shorty Awards (held in NYC) in both the Animation and Education categories.
Dan Binns was the lead designer. The animators were Aaron Brady, Dan Binns and myself. Click on any of the images below to watch the full film.
